Throwing a Bridal or Baby Shower for a big group? Fast & Fabulous “Display Shower”

Bridal Shower
Are you throwing a bridal or baby shower for 20 or more guests? Want to keep the gathering lively and within a three-hour time frame, no matter how many are invited?

Try the fabulous Display Shower – you’ll love the ease, and your guests will love the lively party!

Fun yet efficient, the Display Shower is a non-boring dream come true for the bride, hostess, and guests.

Instead of waiting for fifty gifts to be unwrapped, then passed around while the elders drift off and the young ones get antsy… unwrapped gifts are put on display in a closed-off room, with a big reveal at dessert time!

Beautifully simple. Just follow the four easy steps below:

1. Very important: On your shower invitation, politely request unwrapped gifts and include a gift tag. By way of explanation and inspiration, here’s a fun little rhyme to add to your invite:

“Tradition is changing, and showers are too, so here’s an idea we’re hoping you do.

Bring your present without paper or even a bag; simply use a bow and the enclosed tag.

An unwrapped gift is just as sweet and will save more time to mingle and eat.

Your thoughtful gift, displayed for all to see, will let us relax and honor the Bride (or Mom) -To-Be!”

2. You’ll need a room for gifts that can be visually closed-off so as not to distract guests from food, drinks, and mingling. Decorate the tables with nice linens, flowers, and staggered heights to give them a boutique feel.

3. You’ll also need 1 or 2 dedicated “displayers” who’ll greet guests, receive their gifts (making sure they’re identified with a pretty gift tag), and beautifully display the gifts in the “boutique.”

4. At dessert time, the bride and hostess(es) visit the gift room. The bride has this time to be wowed by and enjoy all the wonderful gifts. It’s a perfect photo opportunity!

Then, the guests are invited into the gift room so they can see all the gifts. The bride then thanks each guest personally, giving each one a sense that their gift was seen and appreciated.

PRO HINT: For desserts at a Display Shower, go with mini desserts –  for ease of “stand up” mix and mingling.
